They look a little soft in detail, or is that just a characteristic of the protective clothing they are wearing?

They will be lead-lined garments, and I can vouch from personal experience they are not the most form hugging

They're all, without exception, also dead. Horribly so. Brave people one and all (including the ones forced to go up on the reactor roof) and they died to save those around them and made the entire Chernobyl complex a mausoleum dedicated to the stupidity of some and the price paid by others. Sorry, couldn't help myself as it was a terribly real and grim event. I also highly doubt the official death toll. Anyways, useful figures for those so inclined and an appropriate helicopter and aerial bucket might nicely round it out.

Thank you Dan for posting this report. Having worked as a radiochemist for 30 years in a nuclear power plant I was able to follow the discussion quite well. We measured significant increases in airborne radionuclide concentrations in north Alabama after the event. It had world-wide effects. Btw, this was not an accident. It was the inevitable result of many stupid decisions by the plant staff to defeat safety systems. A really sad day for nuclear power everywhere. Concerning the figures they look okay to me. It should be noted that the filter masks they are wearing protect against particulates but do not stop gases. Our workers wear SCBAs. John

I'm liking these Chernobyl sets that ICM is coming out with, the first two are kind of expensive but oh so nice. These are going to be a lot easier on the wallet I'm sure. I was in Germany when this happened and over the years wondered exactly how much crap from Chernobyl we were exposed to on a daily basis.
