Tamiya have announced a new Opel Blitz truck in 1/35 scale.
The Opel Blitz 3Ton 4x2 Cargo Truck was one of the workhorses of the German Armed forces and served on every front from the beginning of the war to the end. Now Tamiya have produced Item #35291 1/35 German 3Ton 4x2 Cargo Truck This is an all-new molding, and Tamiya promise that this kit will be more accurate than other current kits.

We are also told that the suspension will be made from a reasonable number of parts for easy assembly without sacrificing detail.

A driver and navigator figure will be included.
The kit comes with a set of fuel drums and jerry cans for a full cargo load. 4 types of markings are included, including both German army and Luftwaffe units. To aid with painting, window masks will be included.

For more details check out the Tamiya website (LINK)

Given the widespread use of this vehicle this is sure to be a popular model.

This is welcome news, all the ones I have been able to scrounge up have tire burns in a couple of spots. It doesn't appear as though Tamiya is offering the newer 8 stud wheels, but it does look like we get corner windows , and figures are alway welcome.

I hope it has decent wheels and a good cab. Looks like it will need detailing sets already, hmmm? (At least an Opel Blitz sticker on the front...)

Width indicators: way too fat! No "Opel Blitz" in logo. Voyager/Lion Roar etc. will have a field day! :-) Seriously, nicely done Tamiya, I'll probably buy half a dozen...

I can't wait either until it hits my hobby shop too.My only hopes are that it's $40 or less and the 2 figures aren't as lame as the ones in their French armored carrier.
