I have a father-in-law (I don't consider him an actual F-i-l as he is only 14 years older than me, and likes to lecture me on history I also lived through.) who on a visit a few years ago, came down to see my office. Even though I had planes of most every major nation involved in WWII hanging or on shelves, the only thing he could fixate on were the few with swastikas on their tails. He turned to me and asked me, "Why would you build stuff like this?", knowing full well my paternal grandfather was a LtCol in the Marine Air Corps in WWII and Korea and that I have had a lifelong interest in history in general, let alone military. This coming from a guy who actually discharged from the Marines during Vietnam after suffering a leg injury on a carrier (typical launch deck crap and being in wrong place/wrong time). Certainly he knows fellow vets with similar interests? All he thought was "OMIGERD NAZEES!!!!111" instead of something more normal like, "Wow, this guy sure has an obsession with models. I wonder what my wife is up too upstairs?" Sometimes things that guy would say had me questioning his service if it wasn't for the pic of him in uniform. But he could be pulling an L. Ron Hubbard, for all I know... Anyway, everyone does something someone else is going to find cheesy, stupid or a waste of time so why allow them to get you worked up? My students right now think building models is boring, but then again all of them have criminal records because they were out doing things other than staying home building models so their opinion is invalid AFAIC.

That's YOUR opinion. Read my first post in this thread... PS- I like my pizza cheesy, too...
Well, it's not pizza without it, so...you're kinda dumb not to, right? Nothing wrong with a little cheese in one's diet.
I've seen pizza made WITHOUT cheese... Though I would have to say that there were other ingredients on it, not that I would get my pizza without cheese. It's a matter of taste, or LACTOSE INTOLERANCE, so you shouldn't call anyone "dumb" because they have their pizza without cheese...

Pizza without cheese is not pizza. By definition it is a round base of dough covered with sauce and cheese. Meats and vegetables may be added as desired but the three core components must exist or it is just bread and sauce. My father-in-law is full-blood second gen Italian-American and that is how it was made in his family. Granted, people can have it without cheese as it is their right... ...to be wrong!

That has not always been the case. While some of the first pizzas where with cheese, no sauce and other toppings, some where bread and toppings no sauce or cheese. While I used to prefer my pizza with lots or cheese and different kinds, those are just fond memories now. Maybe the M3 commander was inspired by Titantic, that might have been the fastest moving vehicle he has ever been on giving him the sense of flying.

Let me just say that I AGREE that "pizza is not pizza without cheese". If we were to go to California and say that, there would be protest groups throwing cheese at us! Go to Philly and ask for a hot roast beef sandwich without cheese and they'll look at you like you've got six heads! And then, you'd better watch out what you call your sandwich if it's made with a small-to-medium-sized loaf of Italian or French Bread. "Submarines", "Subs", Hoagies, "Grinders", whatever. I grew up in New York City, and ANY sandwich that was made with either the loaf of Italian or French Bread was called a "HERO"... Some people aren't as lucky as we are, and CAN'T have any cheese on their pizza, because of allergies, lactose-intolerance, or maybe they just don't know any better. That doesn't make them wrong. I dunno, maybe some of those people just don't like cheese on their pizza or anything ELSE, for THAT matter... And to think that ALL of this nonsense started because I said that I like my pizza "cheesy"... PS- Pizza doesn't have to be ROUND, either... Ask any Sicilian... BTW- GUESS what I'M having for my dinner tonight..? Oh! Excuse me, you Southern fellas call it "supper", don't you..? Supper, dinner, whatever, I'm havin' PIZZA, an' it's GONNA BE CHEESY!!!

RE: The M3 Commander- You know, that dopey "TIANIC" movie that got everything wrong except for the Ship herself, the iceberg and the water never even occurred to me... I kinda got the impression that that TC was "jacked-up" on dope, or something...
