Eduard announces two new sets of photoetch parts for Tamiya Sheridan
The first one, with code 36407, is a generic set that improves several parts like MG shield, ammunition boxes, periscopes, etc.

The second is more specific, a front anti-RPG wire net.

They not only announced them, they released them. The sets are available for purchase now. I already have the bigger set. I feel it's not worth it's price. It only includes one (although quite big) sheet. They only included PE parts for front shield on the commander's station, but not for all the other shields there... Also the engine deck meshes are flat one layer etchings, without any simulated interweave pattern that is often present in better PE sets these days.

Generally for AFVs, Eduard is the choice of last resort. Far better to get an ABER, Voyager or other set, since you'll get more options (sometimes TOO many ). I'm not sure why there is such a discrepancy between what Eduard gives you and the price, but their aircraft sets are always fairly pricey, too.

Whether EDUARD's Aircraft PE sets, (I'm referring solely to their 1/48 scale sets), are pricey or not I LIKE THEM and I use them with nearly all of my "wing-things". For the scale, they are very comprehensive, and I think that they are very much WORTH the money. Has anyone looked at EDUARD's latest 1/48 Aircraft update sets? There are several different levels, i.e: their EX- "Canopy and National Insignia Masks", then, their FE- "ZOOM" Basic-basic etched Pre-Painted Cockpit Details. There are now separate etched, FE- Pre-Painted Seat Belt sets, (more MONEY to be made with separate Seat Belt sets)... There are their much more comprehensive ED- etched Pre-Painted Cockpit and Interior sets, their ED- etched (non-painted) Exterior PE sets. Then, there are the "BIG" sets, which include ALL of the above. in addition, there are their "BRASSIN" multi-media sets, which are broken down into resin and PE Engine and Engine Bay sets, resin and PE Cockpit sets, resin and PE Wheel-sets, etc. Then there are the "big daddies" of all multi-media sets for Aircraft kits; these are the "BIG SIN" multi-media sets which include the whole shebang in one box, plus resin Control Surfaces, Engine Cowlings, and Propellers & Spinners in some cases. WHEW!!! New, are the "LOOK"-series Pre-painted 3-D Instrument Panels, which are probably meant to compete with YAHU's EXCELLENT Instrument Panels. So is EDUARD PE really that over-priced? IMO, it depends on how much detail you want to put into your model. As far as the 1/35 etched sets go, VOYAGER, LION ROAR and GRIFFON can be just as pricey, if not more so... In the past, I've used EDUARD's 1/35 Sherman, Stuart, Chaffee and Pershing Head & Tail Light Brush-Guards, and usually VOYAGER, ABER, LION ROAR, GRIFFON, LEGEND, RB BARRELS and E.T for the rest of my 1/35 PE & resin needs. I think that the ABER Sherman PE sets are probably the best that money can buy EXCEPT for the Head and Tail Light Brush Guards. I think that they bend a little bit too easily, making them susceptible to damage during the assembly processes. That's why I like the EDUARD Brush Guards- They're a little bit more robust. If you guys have been following my past comments in the various threads, you'll know that I'm a big "detail-nut", me being "nuts" in the first place. I LOVE PE and resin stuff. This new Sheridan set looks nice, from what I can see in the photos. But before I buy these, I will want to see what, if any, of the other A/M people come up with for TAMIYA's M551. My thoughts are that VOYAGER or E.T. would probably be more likely candidates for coming up with PE or multi-media sets for this kit than most others... Is it LEGEND that has a fairly new multi-media set for this kit, or is it someone else? My memory fails me right at the moment...

O yeah, of course other AM companies will jump on this soon. So I pass this Eduard one, and I wait... Off-topic somewhat but anyone know when RFM's new Sheridan kit is coming out? I've pre-ordered it back in Dec. 2018, and no word...
