according to Amazon it's still on pre-order, but worth waiting for - the first 4 volumes are invaluable for large numbers of photos of main-stream tanks, half-tracks and even a very good section on the 8-wheeled armoured car.

I saw the proofs for Panzerwrecks #5 at AMPS East. Very impressive, as are the other 4 volumes in this amazing series. Cant wait for this issue to come out Thanks for posting, Jim ! Prost !! Robert

Amazon have just told me that my pre-order for PW5 has been delayed, and has pushed it out to early 2008. Has anyone got a copy yet?

My copy turned up early part of last week, but then I did order it straight off the PW website.

My copy arrived just before christmas. There are some great pictures of a 250 and a 251 with no bodys - perfect for engine bay/suspension/steering detail. Tiger II with zimmerit from many angles (12 photos, some in superb detail/quality) Close-ups of a Panther Ausf G with no zimmerit and a chinned mantlet, and more photos showing engine-deck detail of the field-mod AA metal sheeting on two P5Gs Stugs, P4s... oh loads of good stuff.

Feel (VERY) Free to submit a Review! [/quote] eh what? Why do you need a review on a book of photos? If you mean a list of EVERYTHING that is covered in every photo, that seems a bit unnecessary. The authors supply a partial list already. In general terms, it's a superb series of books, as the photos are mostly of very high quality, and reproduced in a high quality and large format. The research into the background of each photo is usually thorough, and sometimes astonishing. Even if you are not looking for a particular AFV, you can pick up one of these volumes and 'read' through it. The background research brings each photo alive, and (especially if there is a sequence of photos from the same scene) it takes very little imagination to have the story of what happened to the unfortunate occupiers unfold in ones mind. When you come to the end of the book, and take a deep breath, it takes a few seconds to realise you are safe at home, and NOT in the midst of those terrible times. The surrender of the Jagdtigers for one, and the post-hostilities columns of 251s for another (neither of these are in vol 5) are especially fascinating (to me at least). Apart from the hardware on show, the mixture of desolation and relief in the faces of the soldiers is clear and gives a picture of war that wrecked vehicles alone does not convey. I recommend them to you highly.
