Just lovely...yet another model to buy... All it will do is sit in the stash, glaring at me 5 years from now, begging to be built (along with the other 100 kits). Thank god I donated over 200 to charity before this!

Great piece of artillery. Seems to be a rather basic type of technolgy (did it originate from WW1 ?) Now we should finally see some Allied gun crews, not being (pointing) Germans. Miniart, MB? Since you are the ones that take care about modellers wishes the most: you pick up this theme?

Re-lined WW I 8 inch howitzers. LINK "In 1940 the British Army concluded that the only available heavy artillery, the World War I era BL 8-inch howitzer, had insufficient range for the conditions of World War II. As a stopgap the decision was made to re-line the existing barrels to a smaller calibre and develop a new range of ammunition to achieve the desired ranges." The wheels are also new of course ... They also mounted the 7.2 inch barrel on the carriage from the Long Tom guns (more facts in that Wikipedia article) / Robin
