Announced at the 2017 Tamiya Fair is a new kit depicting the M4A3E8 Sherman as used during the Korean War.
U.S. Medium Tank M4A3E8 Sherman “Easy Eight” Korean War (35359) is an injection-molded kit that builds said variant with features such as a gun shield canvas cover, late type deflector, updated engine deck and gun travel lock.

Two torso figures are included, as well as decals for two marking options. As a bonus, parts to build the Soviet GAZ 67B come with the kit.

The kit is expected to be released by early 2018.

First time the Easy Eight is depicted with a red glacis, AFAIK. This kit was shown with a placard of the color scheme and at least two color photos of the particular unit with a red glacis. A note says research was provided by David Doyle. Whether it's colorized or not, I'm not sure but it does appear genuine. Unless it's in one of his books, I'd assume they were bought from a private collection.

Hi guys, The photos are NOT colorized, the images are from the US National Archives. At the archives there is a small, poor color print, and the original color transparency. I have posted a couple of these, as well as its original Signal Corps captions, at: LINK If one considers that on the turret side is stenciled "Rice's Red Devils" - and that Satan is normally depicted in art as red in color - the red artwork is logical (were it Tom's Tangerine Tigers - then yellow would make sense). Hope this helps! Best, David Doyle
