The Fall 2017 releases from Revell of Germany includes a 1/72 kit of this self-propelled howitzer.
M109 G (80-3305) features a rotating turret, detailed chassis, and injection molded tracks with separate sections. The kit contains 172 parts, and when assembled, is 91mm in length. Below lists versions that may be built:

  • Artillerieschule, Idar-Oberstein, 1968
  • Panzerartilleriebataillon 35, Dedelsdorf, 1970
  • Panzerartilleriebataillon 315, Wildeshausen, 1982
  • Panzerartilleriebataillon 135, Wetzlar, 1985

Does different versions simply mean decal options?

Does Revell Germany still make one of these in 1/35?

That may be the case here. Not knowing any better however, I have used the information that was provided for this announcement. Cheers

They never did. Italeri did the M109G kit. It was their standard M109 with German decals. The Revell 1/35 M109A3GA1 was simply the Italeri M109A3 kit with a an extra sprue, new tracks, and decals to build it as a German howitzer. The "new" Tamiya M109A3G is basically the same as the old Revell M109A3GA1.
