Takom announces a new US recovery tank, the M31.
The M31 was based on the Medium Tank M3, removing both the 75mm and 37mm guns and adding a Gar Wood Model 10-Y5500 crane. A 60,000lb capacity winch was also installed in the crew compartment.

The model includes photoetch parts, and there is a jig for assembling the link&length tracks.

Can't wait for the M31, lets hope they make a few more recovery vehicles based on other toolings of theirs

Yes!! Must -buy! A partial front off & exit ramp of the LST would also be a great subject :-)

... was wondering if I should go for their coming Lee/Grant kits (an Academy M3 kit is already in the stash) but no way to avoid this M31 ! A perfect neighbor for the excellent Tasca M32B1. Bravo Takom

Maybe I'm a bit weird but that ugly !%^&^% is a thing of great beauty to me! I'm really looking forward to seeing some great builds and dios! Here's hoping they get it mostly right :-) I'm building 2 Chieftain Mk V's right now and I must say it's a very nice kit overall. Yes there are always more details one could add but it's a very nice model model right outta the box.

This is exciting news as I've been waiting for this since academy announced that they were going to release an M31 TEN YEARS AGO! About time that someone offered one.

Hoping that Takom includes a full interior. If this kit has a full interior, I want to build a M33 Prime Mover. But, I need that full interior to do that!

The M3 Lees and Grants have no full interior -- so I'd say it's not likely that the M31 will have one either. Get over to EBay and snag up the Academy Lee or Grant -- I'm sure guys will be dumping them from their stashes in lieu of the Takom kits.
