Released as 1/35 kits years back, Trumpeter now offers these vehicles in 1/72 scale.
The BTR-70 Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) evolved as a further improvement of the BTR-60PB. It offered better protection and was fitted with an automatic fire suppression system. Dimensionally it was also longer and it had side hatches for troop ingress and egress complementing the ones on the roof. The BTR-70 came with a complete BTR-60PB turret that mounted a 14.5-mm machine gun and coaxial 7.62-mm MG. The vehicle entered service with Soviet army in 1972, but it was only in 1980 when it was first publicly revealed.

Russian BTR-70 APC Early Version (07137) contains over 70 parts in 2 sprues. It also includes rubber tires and a decal sheet with options for marking. When built the model’s dimensions stand at 105mm in length and 39mm in width.

Russian BTR-70 APC Late Version (07138) has more than 80 parts. As with the Early Version (07137), the kit includes rubber tires, decal sheet, and builds dimensionally the same.
