Among the variants of well-known Sd.Kfz.250 family, one of the rarest was the Sd.Kfz.250/4 Truppenluftschützpanzerwagen. It was armed with Zwillingssockel 36 dual-mount machine guns, and was envisioned as a mobile antiaircraft vehicle.
The mounted twin MG34 weapons with an elevation range of +10º to 90º were protected by an armoured shield in the rear compartment. The weapons were operated by a single soldier on an integrated seat.

Dragon has expanded its Sd.Kfz.250 family with a 1/35 scale kit of this Sd.Kfz.250/4 Truppenluftschützpanzerwagen mit Zwilling MG34. While this halftrack variant never saw battle, it was field-tested, offering modellers ample scope if they elect to put it into a suitable diorama.

The Zwillingssockel 36 is newly tooled with highly detailed plastic injection and photo-etched parts. Just like the original dual-MG mount, it can also traverse 360º. The front armoured shield is also newly tooled.

To create this Sd.Kfz.250/4 variant, the fighting compartment interior has been appropriately rearranged. As part of Dragon’s facelift Sd.Kfz.250 series, it has an updated upper hull and Magic Tracks.

This halftrack type has not appeared as a plastic kit before, so it offers modellers something different.

never mind, found one; and: Contradictory information can be found on the leichter Truppenluftschutzpanzerwagen (Sd. Kfz. 250/4) – a small armoured anti aircraft vehicle. This variant is mentioned in the A.H.M. from November 1939 as well as the D600 from July 1943. Other documents assign no purpose to this vehicle or it is totally missing. One document from November 1944 lists this variant as leichter Truppenluftschutzpanzerwagen (Sd. Kfz. 250/4) with the note that this variant is out of production. Most probably, several exemplars were sent to the east front for troop trials in 1942. Only 11. Panzer Division reports 3 exemplars in March 1943 and four exemplars in August 1943 of this variant. The vehicle was armed with two MG 34 in a Zwillingssockel 36 – a pedestal anti aircraft mount for two machine guns. Note that the Zwillingssockel 36 of the Sd. Kfz. 250/4 had an amour shield

I've seen this offered on the towed wagon, but not on a 250...interesting, but I think I'll pass as I seem to have every other variant offered or speculated about. I would, however, really appreciate it if Dragon FINALLY released the 251 UHU that they've bugged me about for a decade or so...
