Dragon announces for next year a new StuG III Ausf. F with mostly new parts.
The Sturmgeschütz III (StuG.III) has the distinction of being Germany’s most widely produced AFV of WWII, with 10,619 eventually manufactured. Based on the chassis of the Panzer III, it was cheaper and faster to build since it did not have a rotating turret. Once German troops began encountering heavily armoured Russian tanks, the StuG III Ausf.F was fitted with a longer 7.5cm gun. This marked the StuG.III’s first true emergence as a tank destroyer rather than as an infantry support vehicle, with 359 vehicles of this variant produced from March-September 1942. Most Ausf.Fs were armed with a 7.5cm StuK 40 L/43 gun, but the final 31 examples featured a longer and more potent L/48 gun.

Dragon offers a new 1/72 scale kit of just such a StuG.III Ausf.F. It features completely new parts (except the lower hull), including the upper hull, fighting compartment superstructure, engine deck, sprocket/idler wheels and others. The new road wheels and track run are made as one piece.

Think of the children ! All those young girls who assemble and paint the pre-builds, this is so much less stressful.

Carlos already put "small" in the news title, isn't that a good enough clue this isn't going to be a 1/35 release?

Where I'm from there are a number of folks who collect/build 1/16 and 1/6, so 1/35 counts as small.

Back to that topic... why read news in the forums...? if you read it in the News section it tells you the scale in the heading... if the editor added "1/72" to the title then it would appear twice in the News heading... so they are specifically told not to do that... the forum post is for discussion of the news item...

This. Most of us know and were just poking a bit of fun at the "big scaler" who got scarred by braille Personally I like looking at all scales and releases regardless of genre as I'm a non-discriminator when it comes to building models. If something takes my fancy I'm in. Still news is always a hot chance to get in the off-topic wrong scale, wrong release, where is my "X" posts, goes with the territory I'm afraid .... cheers Brent

Yes, why is it that in "/news" the scale is always indicated but in the discussion area no similar definition is given? Clearly I would vote for a mandatory statement of scale in both cases.
