Dragon has added a new kit to this big cat’s Zimmerit family, a Tiger I Mid-Production
The Tiger I is an iconic tank of WWII, and its legendary status extends well beyond the limited number of 1,355 that were built. Armed with an 8.8cm KwK.36 main gun and a pair of MG34 machine guns, this massive tank was fortified with armour up to 110mm thick. Dragon has already launched 1/35 scale kits of the famous and formidable Tiger I tank with molded-on Zimmerit.

This new Tiger I, from s.Pz.Abt.506 at the Eastern Front during 1944, expands upon the amazingly detailed parts available in older kit. There are brand new parts such as an antenna on the turret side and new engine deck hatch. The full coating of Zimmerit on the hull and turret is reproduced to an extremely high quality in terms of the pattern and scale effect. To ease assembly, the tank includes convenient DS tracks as well.

Well, it seems that Dragon's marketing has got ahead of itself this time. The kit is a re-release of 6700 with some changes; the exact description still needs to be settled. s.Pz.Abt.506 didn't have the antenna on the turret side, so either that will have to go, or more decals will be added. David

Okay, so ouside of a sheet of decals and possibly an itsy bisty sprue of something this is simple an existing Tiger I with no box art -how original!

Original? Nah. The Creepy Crawler Plasti-Goop tracks gotta go to get to that level.

I actually meant to say "new" box art. Darned fingers!

That seems to be the unanimous sentiment regarding the ubiquitous pointing German figures.

C'mon DRAGON, something that's REALLY new and not just a F*****G re-box, huh..? [/quote] Considering how hit and miss their recent "all new" releases have been, I have to ask what will they mess up next? I mean I am really at a loss how they could have totally botched the M103, Saladin, Conqueror and then stupid errors in their M60A2 and M60 almost as if they didn't bother looking at references let alone the real things. These are vehicles where there are lots of still existing examples as opposed to one off German stuff glimpsed only in a dim photo. Do I really want them to do an M60A3 that I served on and put "unit unknown" because they don't bother to read the bumper codes? Think about what you ask for. What we get might be worse than not having it at all.
