There are three new sets of decals from Dan Taylor Modelworks for British vehicles during WWII, for Corps Reconnaissance Regiments, the Dorchester and 3 CLY (Sharpshooters) in Sicily and Italy
Corps Reconnaissance Regiments, NW Europe
The Four Corps Recce Regiments in Normandy were operated independently of the British armoured divisions, though in almost all circumstances served alongside a specific division. In August , 1944 they were absorbed into these divisions.

Considering the prestigious nature of the units concerned, researching the actions and vehicles of the Reconnaissance units is not easy. Consequently, the markings in the set are more generic than usual for this brand. There are, though, a couple of specific vehicles picked out in the designs.

Dorchester ACV (Low Power)
AEC’s Armoured Command Vehicle was thought so comfortable that it was named after the Dorchester Hotel. The vehicle was based on the Matador 4x4 chassis and over 400 were built. The Dorchester was introduced in 1941 and first served in the Western Desert.

This set has markings for seven ACVs during different phases of the war. Two of the represented vehicles were captured by the Afrikakorps and employed in Rommel’s tactical headquarters so markings are provided for British and German service.

A set for the High Power version of the ACV is available separately.

3 CLY (Sharpshooters), Sicily & Italy
After the successful battle of Alam Halfa in August 1942, 3 CLY was withdrawn from 7th Armoured Division and re-equipped on Sherman Mk IIIs with 4th Armoured Brigade. Their next deployment was as part of the invasion force for Operation Husky - the invasion of Sicily on 9th July 1943. They fought through the Sicilian campaign and then moved on to Italy as part of 8th Army advancing up the East Coast of Italy. In December 1943 they were ordered back to the UK in order to become part of the invasion force for the landings in Normandy.

This set comprises specific markings for nine Sherman Mk III tanks, two M3A1 White Scout Cars and two Daimler ‘Dingo’ Scout Cars. Additionally there are generic markings for further vehicles.
