MK35 Editions have added two new items to their range that may be of interest to builders of vignettes and dioramas of various periods and locations: a quite large stone farm yard wall with gate, and a shirt sleeved smoking civilian.

MK35 Editions is a manufacturer of mostly 1/35 scale (and some 1/43) figures, buildings and diorama accessories. Based in the south of France, most of their output is around the theme of WWII in France, however, as can be seen with these two new items, much of it could be used in scenarios in other times and places.

First we have item A112, “Normandy Stone Yard Wall” retailing at 13.50€. This looks to be a three part casting, the wall being ceramic and split in two at one edge of the large door way, with the door separately cast in resin, so it can presumably be modelled closed or open. The wall is 21.3cm (just over 8 inches) long and 8.3cm (3¼ inches) high. Note that despite what is shown in the photo, this item is just the wall, not the ground base as well. The stonework and the wooden gate look to be well modelled and certainly have a very good appearance when painted up in the photos. While perhaps modelled on a type of farm wall typical of Normandy, I could imagine this making an appearance in other contexts.

The new figure is item F254, “Victor”, who costs 11€. Despite his name he has a modest appearance, and is sculpted standing with one foot crossed over the other as he leans on something (in the photos, a stone wall) while on a cigarette break from whatever else is going on in his life… his facial expression could be interpreted as pretty serious. He’s dressed in a very neutral way with leather shoes, trousers and an open-collared shirt with the long sleeves buttoned down. Again, this neutrality might allow this figure to be deployed in various historic or modern contexts, even if his hair cut is a bit old fashioned. Looks to be a nice figure, though MK35 have only provided photos from the front, none from the side or rear.
