Italeri has put together several of their 1/72 kits in a single box, including everything needed for a large diorama of the Battle of Berlin.
The Battle of Berlin was the last historical military event of the Second World War on the European theater. From the middle of April 1945 the Red Army launched a massive offensive along the Oder River line with the final goal to capture the German capital. Since April 20th the Russian artillery began shelling Berlin to prepare the way for the infantry divisions and armored troops. The battle ended on May 2nd, after intense and fierce fighting in the ruins of the capital of the Reich, with the surrender of German troops. The urban fighting, however, caused a significant number of soviet tanks and armored vehicles losses as results of German anti-tank weapons as Pak 40 and “Panzerfasut”, and the few tanks still available for the German Army.

The set includes a large Berlin house, two T-34/85, a Panther Ausf. G, a Pak 40 anti-tank gun, 96 parts for urban accesories and 32 (!!) soldiers for each Army. The kits are marked as fast assembly, being simplified to have only a few parts which can be quickly ready for paint.

The box has enough models to make a good sized diorama. The number of vehicles and soldiers will allow for multiple variations of the scene, putting them all together or in separated areas or even using the inside of the house.

The Berlin House is available also as a separated kit.

I actually enjoy these. I happily remember the diorama sets by UPC, AHM, Airfix, Tamiya (in a bottle!), and others back in the 1960s-1970s. With these better models of terrain and structures I think modelers, novice to advanced, have a good staring point to express their inspiration.

Never found the figures all that great, but was a lot of fun. I think with some of the skills I have gained, and maybe some AM figures and parts, could be a great diorama.

Not to mention that extra individual floors are also available (as separate kits) to turn the two floor apartment building into a highrise!

Looks like as much fun as the Aurora Anzio Beach set I had as a kid (with an M-46 and an M4A1 HVSS, sic). The decal can be fixed to read "Siegen oder Sibi-rien" as in this photo: LINK,9253914,highRes,maxh,480,maxw,480,fr_71-30067249.JPG.jpg
