I have stumbled across a new company that some of you may have heard of in the past, but with their wide range of vehicle products, I thought it worth introducing this company to the Armorama community.
You may have heard of Wespe Models in the past, and know of thier wares. But for those unfamiliar, Wespe Models is a manufacture of resin vehicles. They deliver these vehicles either as a resin kit, or as an assembled and paint model. Scales range from 1:15 to 1:87, with most of their products in the popular scales of 1/35, 1/48, and 1/72. While most of thier vehicles are military in nature, they do offer a range of civilian vehicles too.

What caught my eye with this company was the announcement of the Vomag - 88mm FLAK in 1:15 scale, yes 1:15 scale, that is not a typo. An impressive model that could be the star of any model shelf. I was surprised at the large variety of vehicles and scales they manufacture. Not being from the Europe, some of the vehicles I have never heard of or seen, but find very interesting. I have included a small, and it is only a small fraction, of images of Wespe Models kits and vehicles.

Below is a very small sample from Wespe Models 1/35 price list.

You are a bit late. There are already four reviews of Wespe Models products here on Armorama, dating back to 2010. So they are neither new nor really need an introduction, although a refresher doesn't hurt I guess...

Old thread.

Does anyone know if their Mack NO is any good?

My opinion: The Wespe Mack NO model seems a bit oddly proportioned. Vehicle looks too lite weight, wheels too small and underbody mechanical detail just big cubes of resin. Same comments on the Azimut offering though some years back Alex Hill did a full on update/correction to the model kit that looked fantastic! You might check out this link: LINK

Tat, I just thought I would bump this thread and give Wespe a little more exposure. I am building one of their kits right now and they do offer a unique selection of "out of the mainstream", very interesting resin vehicles available nowhere else in the hobby.

VC-1 Pre-war Dodge 4x4 Command Car offered by Wespe. Designed in 38-39, the only year of production was 1940, supplanted in 41 by the 1/2 ton WC series. The GREAT-GREAT-GRANDDADDY to all the WC's and the Dodge Power Wagon! Beautifully proportioned model, molding is crisp and very well cast. As many have already indicated, the model is somewhat lacking in underbody detail but I am currently in the process of giving it the "Koenig" chassis treatment. Would love to find replacement wheels and tires for the car though the Wespe offering DOES include raised sidewall lettering, however as you can see on the spare tire - somewhat incorrect omni-directional tread pattern and very low relief, giving the appearance of a very well worn tire!

This kit caught my eye on eBay a few years back mainly because I am fortunate that one of probably only two completely restored VC-1's in the world lives only about 2 miles from my home! Photo copyright Mike Koenig 2015 - All Rights Reserved)

Hi Mike, what a great looking vehicle! Knowing your work, that kit will look awesome when your finished with it.

No worries Mike, my response was for the one preceding it. I see it has been a while since news was featured on Wespe Models, so its good you've brought this one up -- a reminder to watch our for future news material. Cheers, Tat
